This dataset represents census tracts in WA state with the associated vulnerable road user characteristic index.
<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN STYLE="font-size:12pt">Washington State Department of Transportation developed the Vulnerable Road User Characteristic Index as part of the 2023 Vulnerable Road User Safety Assessment (</SPAN><A href="https://targetzero.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Washington_Target_Zero_Plan_FINAL_11-04-2024_Accessible.pdf" STYLE="text-decoration:underline;"><SPAN>https://targetzero.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Washington_Target_Zero_Plan_FINAL_11-04-2024_Accessible.pdf</SPAN></A><SPAN STYLE="font-size:12pt">). The index represents the maximum value across various sociodemographic and physical environmental characteristics: areas of persistent poverty, tribal land, the CDC Social Vulnerability Index, WA DOH Environmental Health Disparities Index, disadvantaged communities score, school density, transit stop density, and transit route mileage density. The index composition is included in Exhibit 9 of the 2023 vulnerable road user safety assessment. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P><P><SPAN /></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
