The Regional Transportation Planning Organization (RTPO) feature class was separated from the previous Transportation Planning Organization feature class in 2026. Adjustments will be made as RTPO boundaries change.
RTPOs are a requirement of state law. An individual RTPO consists of one or more complete counties. Kitsap County is part of two RTPOs. San Juan County is not part of any RTPO. RTPOs were created starting with a copy of the county boundary feature class available on the WSDOT Workbench. Individual counties were merged to create RTPOs that contain more than one county.
