Abstract:
This dataset provides directional traffic data for application to the modified, or full design level matrix in Chapters 430, or 440 of the Design Manual to establish the appropriate design class for the Design Elements of a project. Updated DHV values and SRMPs have been added.
Purpose:
This data set is to establish estimated project costs for budgeting purposes to the Legislature.

Data is only provided for Mainlines, Spurs, Couplets, Alternate Routes, Reversible Lanes and Grade Separated HOV Lanes. These are the related roadway types for which traffic data is reported to the federal government through the Highway Performance Monitoring System. One record on the increasing side of the LRS, 090RL090EXP, did not place due to a discrepancy in Roadway data and the 24k Linear Referencing System.

After Datamart extraction the following procedures were conducted: Associated growth factors from an HPMS table of growth factors by County, Functional Class, and Rural/Urban classification with each row of traffic data. Associated Design Hour factors from the 2005 Peak Hour Report table of Design Hour factors by AADT group with each row of traffic data. Applied formulas to each row of traffic data in the Datamart extraction to calculate the 20 year forecasted: Design Hour Volume (DHT), Peak Direction Design Hour Volume (DDHV), and Other Direction DHV. Updated the dataset to include the calculated forecasted: EST20YRDHV, PEAKDIRDESIGNHRVOLDDHV, and OTHERDIRDESIGNHRVOL values.
