Some general WSPMS terminology: Survey Unit: A segment of road created by the WSPMS for the purpose of carrying condition information. Survey Units will have a uniform surface type, WSDOT region and age, along with a target length of 0.1 miles. Current Planning Biennium: A fiscal biennium that a program of projects are being planned for. For each release of WSPMS, a specific planning biennium is used and Due Year Categories are assigned based on this biennium.

Layers were created with the following steps: 1. Custom C# code to extract the data from WSPMS into Microsoft Excel workbook, with one tab for Increasing/Both and one tab for Decreasing units. 2. Create shapes using ArcMap Display Route Events with the 24K Inc LRS for Increasing/Both data and the 24K Dec LRS for the Decreasing data 3. Use the Geoprocessing > Merge to create a merged feature class 4. Create symbology, map tips, and sometimes hyperlinks (indicated below) using a layer file
