Name: State Route Vulnerability for Climate Change High Scenario

Display Field: SR

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolyline

Description: This data provides local experts’ evaluation of a highway section's vulnerability to extreme weather events and other potential climate change impacts. It is primarily intended for use in transportation planning to ensure that consideration is given for protecting and minimizing damage from such events or conditions. Ground conditions and climate change scenarios will change over time, thus users should validate the implications of this data against the current best available information. The Climate Change "High Scenario" includes all climate change effects identified in 2009 by the University of Washington's Climate Impacts Group, including a sea-level rise of up to roughly six feet. The Washington State Department of Transportation developed this data set in fulfillment of a 2010 grant from the Federal Highway Administration to test a conceptual climate risk assessment model developed for transportation infrastructure.
